Competence

One of the main initiatives of the Bergen Research Foundation is to support competence building at the University of Bergen (UiB) and at Haukeland University Hospital. The BFS Starting Grant Programme has been the Foundation’s flagship programme right from the start. The grant to the Toppforsk Programme was a gift to UiB in conjunction with Bergen Research Foundation’s 10th anniversary. The Foundation also has a number of other measures, which are presented under Other Competence Building Initiatives.

 

BFS Starting Grant

Since Bergen Research Foundation was established in 2004, the University of Bergen has had a unique strategic opportunity to recruit excellent young researchers through the BFS Starting Grant Programme. The Foundation has been instrumental in recruiting 36 young research leaders to the University of Bergen.
